Pothos mostly grows along the floor of tropical rainforest and they vine up the trunk of other large trees. In some tropical areas, they are known as a highly invasive species, having no natural enemies and it will completely overgrow the forest floor and vining over trunk of trees, causing severe ecological disruption.

In their natural habitat being mostly under a canopy of deep shade, this explains why they are almost unkillable when being an ornamental plant, as they adapt so well in homes and offices with limited access of light. They are known for their long cascading vines, making a beautiful hanging plant.

Based on NASA study, Pothos plants are found to be one of the most efficient in cleaning the air from harmful chemicals.
