Defined with its large wavy matte-looking leaves, Bird’s Nest Anthurium is ready to be a defined centerpiece in your home space
ANamed in honor of botanist Timothy Plowman, the Bird’s Nest Anthurium originally grew as an epiphyte. Their giant aerial roots are used to cling on to trees. They can grow so large that they may fall to the ground because of their own weight. Nonetheless, because they are so versatile, they are able to continue to grow as a terrestrial plant once they detached themselves from a tree. Easily adaptable, often they are the remaining evergreen plants in a tropical forest to continue to grow during the dry season.
Having an origin background that is able to handle different kinds of terrain, they are known to be plants with minimum care and can tolerate low humidity rooms, making them a wonderful addition to your home.
Fun fact!
The plant once gained wide popularity in Indonesia back in the 2000s and their price was significantly expensive. There was even a time where home burglars were targeting to steal the plant in people’s backyard instead of other valuables!
Botanists, farmers and other horticultural actors later on democratize the growth, access and price of the plants, making the Bird’s Nest Anthurium to be affordable and accessible to consumers.
